Everything was fine. The Bantu knot-out? Flourishing—definition, volume, confidence on 100. Rocking a fine print dress gifted by mama, designed by the talented @essy182. Life was giving soft glam and sunshine… until the frizz rolled in and my makeup said plot twist 😅🌧️
Felt spontaneous around 11PM and decided to bless my short natural hair with a Bantu knot-out for the occasion.
Started on dry, conditioned hair in small sections. Spritzed a lil’ water, worked in my curling gum for that perfect slip + hold, followed with oil to seal, then twisted each piece around itself until it locked in just right.
Oiled up my palms, unraveled each knot by untwisting, then gently separated into smaller sections. Gave it that final fluff using this pic right here and my fingers—and WOW. The volume, the definition, the everything 🤎
Went about my day like a whole vibe—outdoor errands, high dew point, a lil drizzle. Sis… I didn’t protect the hair. By evening, the time of the special occasion? The frizz said hello, my makeup said goodbye, and I was out here lookin’ like a soggy… 😩😂
Lesson learned: always respect the dew point & carry a satin-lined hood or headwrap—because nature does not care about your Bantu knot-out.
What would you have done different?
