What is this hairstyle?

With the soft, feathered layers for movement, face-framing layers starting around the cheekbones and the back slightly longer than the front, this hairstyle is a mix of shag wolf and mullet haircut. Ok let’s call it a Sleek Wolf Mullet Bob. Some may simply call it a Wolf cut, because a wolf cut generally is a mix of shag and mullet. Or a Bixie cut (mix of pixie and bob). What would you call it?
How to achieve this hairstyle?
Step 1: Prep hair
- If using natural hair, we start with clean, blow-dried hair.
- If using a wig, we would pick a lace front bob wig with some length in the back.
- Apply a heat protectant spray before styling.
Step 2: The Cutting Process to Create Layers & Wispy Ends
- Use a razor or scissors to cut light, soft, feathered layers.
- Focus on:
✔ Face-framing layers at the front.
✔ Slightly longer back to give the mullet effect.
✔ Feathered ends for that soft, wispy texture.

Step 3: Styling for Sleekness
- Apply a lightweight serum or oil for shine.
- Use a flat iron to straighten hair but curve the ends slightly inward.
- Tuck one side behind the ears and use accessories like clips to secure that for the sleek pushed-back effect.
- Style the fringe so it looks wispy and natural.
- Apply a light-hold hairspray to keep it sleek and we are done
DIY wolf mullet cut on Curly Hair

Fake it by pinning the sides for a tapered effect (Faux wolf mullet)
If you’re not ready to cut your hair, twist small sections of your hair on the sides and pin them behind your ears to make the front look more tapered and layered while the back appears longer
