You have dry sensitive skin and are finding it difficult to get it to where you want? As I get older, my skin gets drier and I’ve noticed it needs more and more of the thicker creams as moisturizer than simply a liquid oil.

I have always wanted a simple skincare routine focused on simply cleansing and moisturizing for dry skin. But I also have sensitive skin with some visible pores, acne and dark spots. So I wanted one simple cream and cleanser that would address all these. Our Gentle Glow Cleanser and, Nourish and Glow Cream has been able to do this beyond expectation. It is born from a desire to help simplify skincare routine, while celebrating the beauty of looking and feeling your best.

Gentle Glow Cleanser

Gentle Glow Cleanser is a mild daily face cleanser, that’s oil-free AND pH balanced. Try this silky smooth, luxurious foaming cleanser that uses Hibiscus and mild surfactants for a gentle clean – perfect for everyday use.

Why Hibiscus?

Due to its rich content of antioxidants, vitamins, and natural acids, hibiscus enhances the ability to cleanse and rejuvenate the skin, making it a beneficial ingredient for a balanced and effective skincare routine.

1. Exfoliation: The natural acids in hibiscus, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), provide gentle exfoliation, helping to remove dead skin cells and promote a brighter, smoother complexion.
2. Treating acne and Pimples: Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, make it beneficial for treating acne and pimples. It contains natural acids that gently exfoliate the skin, helping to unclog pores and reduce breakouts.

Nourish and Glow Cream

Nourish and Glow Cream is a handmade product in Uganda and formulated with natural and organic ingredients that work together to enhance the appearance and health of your skin. Doubling as both a serum and moisturizer, this all-natural cream lets you achieve more with less. Can also work as a great primer under your foundation

Ingredients

Water

Water acts as a solvent and carrier for other ingredients, facilitating their absorption into the skin. It provides the necessary hydration to maintain skin moisture levels, helps dissolve and blend active ingredients, and ensures the formulation’s overall texture and consistency to deliver a more effective and evenly distributed application, enhancing the overall efficacy and user experience of the product.

CutAfrik Afro Butter Cream (Petrolatum, Cocoa butter, Mango Butter, Perm Kernel Oil, Kojic)

We had to first mix butters to make sure it gives a rich moisturizing glow blend. This is because Cocoa butter can be drying. But when rationed well with other butters, it gives great results. The small concentration of Kojic dipalmitate here is generally not meant to change your skin color but to slowly and effectively lighten dark spots, age spots, and uneven skin tone naturally over time. Petrolatum

Petrolatum is an occlusive ingredient, that helps form a barrier on the skin, locking in moisture. It enhances moisturizing properties, particularly for dry skin.

Cocoa Butter

Because of its rich fatty acid content, cocoa butter is a good at enhancing the skin’s appearance by improving elasticity and firmness.

Mango Butter

Rich in vitamins A, C, and E, Mango butter is a highly nourishing and moisturizing ingredient that helps hydrate and soften the skin. It promotes skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and soothes dry or irritated skin. Its lightweight texture makes it easily absorbable without clogging pores, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Additionally, mango butter helps protect the skin from environmental stressors and promotes healing of minor skin conditions.

Palm Kernel Oil

Palm kernel oil is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, making it highly effective in moisturizing, nourishing, soften and smooth the skin. Palm kernel oil is also known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which can soothe irritated skin and help with conditions like eczema. Additionally, its high content of vitamins A and E supports skin healing and protects against environmental damage.

Kojic Dipalmitate

Kojic dipalmitate is a natural and stable, oil-soluble derivative of kojic acid that works by inhibiting the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots and uneven skin tone. It is effective in treating hyperpigmentation, age spots, and discoloration caused by sun damage or acne scars. The small concentration of Kojic dipalmitate here is generally not meant to change your skin color but to slowly and effectively fade dark spots, age spots, and uneven skin tone naturally, making the complexion appear more radiant over time.

Glycerin

Glycerin has a soothing effect, making it beneficial for calming irritated or sensitive skin. It is highly effective moisturizing agent that attracts and retains moisture in the skin, to enhance the skin’s overall texture and elasticity, promoting a hydrated, smoother and more supple appearance. It helps to improve the skin’s natural barrier function, preventing water loss and reducing dryness and flakiness. Olivem 1000 Emulsifying Wax

Olivem 1000 is often well-tolerated by sensitive skin, and it also has moisturizing and skin-conditioning benefits. It is a natural, plant-based emulsifier derived from olive oil and is known for its gentle and skin-friendly properties. Olivem 1000 helps to create stable emulsions, blending oil and water effectively without causing irritation.

Titanium dioxide

The small concentration of Titanium dioxide, often referred to as “Snow White” powder, has the ability to protect the skin from harmful UV rays by reflecting and scattering sunlight, to prevent sun-induced skin damage, reducing the visibility of imperfections and enhancing the skin’s natural radiance.

Liquid Germal Plus

Liquid Germal Plus, a broad-spectrum preservative is generally considered mild and suitable for many skin types, including sensitive skin. It helps prevent microbial growth, extending the shelf life of products.
